Meet Dr. Matthew Burton

Dr. Matthew Burton, a native of Lake Charles, holds a degree in biological science from McNeese State University and a medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Missouri and is trained in robotic-assisted neurosurgery and the latest minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Burton specializes in comprehensive spinal care for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, providing individualized pain management plans aimed at non-surgical recovery whenever possible. These plans include referrals to top therapy programs tailored to each patient’s needs. He also performs interventional pain management procedures such as spinal injections and nerve blocks.

Dr. Burton has been honored by the Executive Committee of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons as a Fellow of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. This prestigious recognition reflects his exceptional professional standing and commitment to excellence in neurosurgery, highlighting his significant contributions to the field and dedication to advancing patient care.
